The St Paul’s Innovation Precinct in Bald Hills, Queensland, stands as a bold statement in educational design; an inspiring hub that redefines how students learn, collaborate and create. Completed in early 2023, this state-of-the-art facility is now a cornerstone of St Paul’s School, delivering a future-focused environment for Pre-Prep to Year 12 students.

Designed as a singular learning ecosystem, the precinct brings together spacious indoor and outdoor zones that seamlessly support research, presentation and project-based learning. This fluid design minimises disruption and fosters creativity, enabling students to transition effortlessly between tasks.
The precinct is more than just classrooms – it’s a vibrant community space. Features include:
The success of the Innovation Precinct was built on strong collaboration between St Paul’s School, Towill Design Group, and Stramit. Guided by the school’s Realms of Thinking philosophy, the design team worked to create spaces that encourage curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
Ken King, Stramit Technical Specification Manager, reflects on the partnership:
“This was about creating spaces that inspire. Working closely with Towill Design Group and St Paul’s, we delivered a precinct that embodies progressive education and showcases the versatility of Stramit steel solutions.”
For Stramit, this collaboration was a natural fit. Innovation is at the heart of everything we do—from developing advanced steel products to supporting projects that challenge traditional design thinking. Partnering with St Paul’s on a precinct dedicated to future-focused learning was a no-brainer. It allowed us to demonstrate how our solutions can enable architects and educators to push boundaries, creating environments that are as functional as they are inspiring.
By combining Stramit’s engineering expertise with Towill Design Group’s architectural vision and St Paul’s commitment to educational excellence, the team delivered a space that sets a new benchmark for learning environments in Australia.
Stramit’s Australian-made steel products were integral to the Innovation Precinct’s design and performance. Each element was chosen for its durability, versatility and aesthetic appeal, ensuring the building could meet the demands of a modern learning environment.

The project featured:
These products not only enhance the precinct’s architectural character but also ensure long-term performance in Queensland’s climate. By leveraging COLORBOND® steel’s proven durability, UniCote® LUX’s aesthetic sophistication and Stramit’s engineering expertise, the precinct achieves a perfect balance of form and function.
Now fully operational, the Innovation Precinct is more than a building – it’s a catalyst for learning transformation. It stands as a testament to what’s possible when education, design and material innovation converge.
