When it came to re-roofing the Ansett Building at Airlie Beach after Cyclone Debbie, Jim McLaren and Chris Wilson from JD Roofing knew Stramit had the quality products for the job at hand. But it was really the fast order confirmations and on-time deliveries that were critical to helping deliver this technically challenging job in just 12 short weeks.
Chris remembers shaking his head when he inspected the damaged 1,135m2 roof, which featured five different roof pitches.
“The job was tough . . . I’d never worked on a roof so steep or varied – from 65 degrees at one point down to 3 degrees in another!
“The project is on Airlie Beach’s main road so the site had terrible access – but that didn’t faze them. The Stramit team worked with us to come up with a plan and then it was all systems go.
“They were quick to turn around order confirmations, and we always got our order on time, every time. If we needed an order delivered at 5.00am, they were there at 4.50am. If we needed to change delivery times – no problem!
“They never let us down once in the twelve weeks we were working on the job. There’s also no time wasted in the office following up wrong orders or invoices. That takes a lot of stress out of jobs like this one.
“You also know what you’re getting and when – it’s been that way since we started using them 15 years ago”, he said.
Stramit’s quality products also went a long way to ensuring a great outcome.
“Because the building was only metres from the beach front, we went with Stramit’s Longspan® and Corrugated roof sheeting in Wind Spray Ultra® because we knew it would give us the best protection against corrosion. There’s no better,” Chris said.
